Kampala Bombings: UPDATE (2) Ssemwogerere Francis

July 17, 2010 by Kevin

I’ve just come back from being in ICU with the local press. I was very pleased to see Francis awake and aware of all going on around him. He is still on the ventilator, though the nurses have been trying him on oxygen from time-to-time throughout the day. He can’t speak but he is able to write and he wrote a message for the press.

I am very proud of our ICU team.

Thanks so much for those encouraging words for Francis and Grace. He still has a long way to go but fights on very strongly and is now smiling and starting to learn to talk with the tube in. I will endeavour to print off your messages and pass them to Grace to share with Francis. More photos to follow shortly when they have been cleared by the site controllers.
    Kind regards
    Diane

To Lydia and Lillian, what a lovely message for your uncle. he will be so happy to hear from you. I had not seen him for a few weeks as I was working away from the hospital but I saw him yesterday and was delighted to be greeted by Francis sitting more upright in bed with a big smile on his face and looking much better. He has still got a very long way to go but all the nurses and doctors are looking after him well and he is working very hard to get better. So keep praying hard and I will forward all your messages to him. if you want to email him a proper email you can use my address dianel@img.co.ug and I will make sure he gets them. Or I am sure he would love to get a letter from you to read himself.

    Thanks
    Diane

    Dear Lord,
You know Francis and his family members so much better than I do. You know his sickness and the burden he carries. You also know his heart. Lord, I ask you to be with him now, working in his life. Let your will be done in his life. If there is a sin that needs to be confessed and forgiven, Lord, please help him to see his need and confess. Lord, I pray for Francis because your Word says we should pray for his healing. I believe you hear our earnest prayers from our hearts and that they re powerful because of your promise. We have faith in you to heal him, but we also trust in the plan you have for his life. Lord, we don’t always understand your ways, and why Francis has to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace towards him andhis family. Nourish his spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort him with your presence. Let him know you are there with him through this difficulty. And may you be glorified in his life and also in ours.
    Amen .
(Rise and Shine! It is a brand new day. We are all waiting for you…best wishes
