Bosco is from Lira, married and has five children. Bosco and his wife have AIDS. He has been sick for the past two years. He used to work as a cyclist providing lifts for fares (bicycle boda boda) and had a small ‘shamba’ for small scale farming. However he had to give up both activities because he’s been too ill. He now has no source of income and depends upon the goodwill of family and friends who have very little if anything to share with him and his six dependants. The only clothes Bosco owns are the ones on his body.

Both Bosco and his wife sought for treatment from the Aldo Project, through that he was sent to Hope Ward for treatment of a Kaposis Sarcoma (a cancer that commonly affects people living with AIDS in Uganda). He has been started on chemotherapy and hopes that one day he will be well enough to find work or farm again and provide food for his family.
The Aldo project is our charity HIV/AIDS outreach and treatment programme at the Lira Clinic, funded by Suubi Trust and Hands of Help.
