Judith is a young teenager who had a “soft tissue cancer” (fibrosarcoma) diagnosed at a different centre when she was 15yrs. Her family come from the West of Uganda, a day’s journey from the hospital and are villagers who can barely afford any medical care. Unfortunately, the tumour recurred and it was removed but recurred again. By this time, the family could not afford any more care and in desperation sent the child to us.
Judith is currently doing well after chemotherapy and complex surgery requiring a large skin graft. (The chemotherapy was fully sponsored by Suubi Trust and the surgery was kindly sponsored by a personal donation by the Swedish ambassador to Uganda’s family)
Judith is now on radiotherapy and we are hoping for a complete cure.
