Clive Brigden is the Curriculum Director at the Canon Palmer Catholic School and future father-in-law of Dr Grania Price who has just finished her VSO posting at International Hospital Kampala.
He has organised a number of fund raising events at the school in aid of Hope Ward and sends this update:
We are now over £2000!
Money raised by a staff collection £600 approx; Year 7 sponsored silence £700; Musical evening for parents £300; raffle & computer games competition £400.
Will get some photos for you shortly. Raffle being drawn tomorrow. Prizes worth £200 and £100 donation were from a truly wonderfully generous teacher, Mrs Jenny Smith. The Head of Music, Mrs Christy Mayer wanted all proceeds from the concert to go to Hope Ward.
The Head of Year 7, Mrs Parker, was brilliant in organising the sponsored silence & collecting all the money. The Head Boy, Sam Sarpong & Deputy, James Condon were excellent in organising the raffle & games competition.
