Ambrose is an enrolled comprehensive nurse at the Clinic in Lira. He is 27 years old, single and looks after three younger siblings since they were orphaned. He completed ordinary level and advanced level school, Nursing School and has completed a comprehensive nursing course. He also has a diploma in counselling. Other experiences he has had include training in the integrated management of childhood diseases (IMCI) and in the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDS (PMTCT). He has worked in community health, training community members on disease control and safety.

Ambrose has been working with us in Lira since July when the clinic opened, and as well as his nursing duties, he has been taking primary responsibility for the HIV counselling.

Ambrose enjoys study, and is keen to have the chance to study infectious disease in more detail.
