Dr Ian Clarke sent us this quick update today:
We did another case of open heart surgery this morning and it all went well. The patient was aged thirty and had an ASD since birth and was about to go into heart failure if the surgery had not been carried out. Dr Clement also did a valve tightening procedure since the valve was also leaking due to the enlarged heart.
The heat exchanger which you sent – arrived on Friday and was used with no problems. The team will do another one or two cases tomorrow.
