Over the weekend of July 15th – 17th some of Uganda’s most talented young artists from the Uganda Artists Association gave up their time to inspire and brighten Hope Ward. Their creative talent can be seen in 7 wall murals transforming the ward into something of a masterpiece!
The professional artists provided the brushes and paint. Stella Atal and Dan Sekajja guided the children as they chose their favourite colours painting and sketching for over four hours to make the wall of the children’s ward “more colourful”.
Eight-year-old Tracy Lawino says that painting is one of her hobbies and she feels “good painting the ward to make the sick children get better.”
Responding to questions by the artists, Daudi Odongo, 10, said, “painting is part of our work at school. We are taught during classes how to paint.”
The children and artists also had help from Hope Ward’s Patricia Ntino. She thanked the children for participating in the painting of the ward and appealed for more assistance towards medical bills of children admitted there.
